Monsoon is the best time to visit OOTY-Udhagamandalam...If you like Nature,Greenery, Rain,Lakes,Clouds,Mountains,Flowers,Boating and South Indian Food then Ooty is the place .

Toy Train-Ooty

Udhgammandalam is a Tamil Name and Ooty was given by Britishers. Ooty is a beautiful town and the district capital of the Nilgiris in the Indian state of TamilNadu. Local people speak Tamil here.....

Recently, I visited and the experience was awesome. We decided to go by Train( Indian Railways) and from Metupalyam we took Toy Train to Ooty. Toy train is one of its own kind of experience...

You will find yourself in the lap of nature.Every thing was so clean and fresh...Even after one week, i can imagine that natural beauty....

 We reached at around 11 in the morning after traveling for 48 hrs. It was little tiring but the moment we reached Ooty ,I felt a  different kind of freshness...We had an awesome south Indian Breakfast(Idlli,Dosa) and we  decided to visit Local area. Our first location was Ooty Lake and did boating and biking. Explored local market and tasted home made chocolates.Visited Rose garden, Doddabetta Peak  and Wax museum. Although, Wax museum was not that good but it was fine.

Second day, When i got up it was raining heavily and it was very cold. Our taxi driver decided to takes us to Pykara. It was very cold like December in Delhi. On our way to Pykara, we visited

Pykara Lake was very clean and very huge and best for speed boating... We spend our whole after noon their and it was still raining... but sun was playing hide and seek with us....some times, the weather was very clean and some times was raining cats and dogs....That was the beauty of that place......

9th mile view

           6th mile and 9th mile was 2 view point and and it is famous as Filmy chakar..lot of Bollywood and Tollywood movies have been shot their...In some of the places i also felt that i have seen these locations in movies....and these location can beat any international location.   

 Next Day, We went to Conoor. Again we took Toy Train from Ooty to Conoor...and view was breath taking.It was very beautiful.There were lot places to visit in Conoor like : Dolphin's nose,Cathrine Falls,Sim's park. Though It was not at all similar to Dolphin's nose but scenery was very beautiful. First time i experienced clouds on roads and lush green beautiful tea garden was like a carpet on mountains.

After coming back from Conoor, We had our first north Indian food at Pankaj Bhoojnal in Ooty. And the food was too good after 4 days we had chapatti and dal....That night was very peaceful , it was raining.....and roads were clean...we walked back to our hotel holding umbrella......Next Day, Finally we packed our bags and Went to Coimbatore to take our flight to Delhi......I enjoyed with my family and also like to suggest you to visit our Queen of hills.....OOTY and Don't forget to share your experiences too...
